PhAnToM oF tHe OpErA

Wednesday, November 19th

Today’s history class encompassed a variety of topics covering World War I from the British perspective. I found this particularly interesting since we had just watched the theatrical production of War Horse, which takes place during this time. For the second part of class, we ended up walking around town all the way to Parliament, looking at old war memorials and other historical aspects of the city. I find it amazing how literally everywhere you go there is history in every step of this city.
I got back to my room and got some stuff done, and then went to dinner later that night at the ISH bar. The bar food is pretty good, but I don’t think I will eat up there every night, simply because it isn’t that good for you. Ha.

From here, Rachael and I went to see Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre. I don’t know how I’ve made it this far in my life without having seen it, but today was the day. The music was really good, and the play itself was awesome… however, the lead actress, Christine, had a rather annoying voice… Other than that, I really enjoyed the play.

I came back that night to find an e-mail from my friend Billy’s cousin, giving more details about the design job he wanted to hook me up with. We had briefly talked about doing some freelance work for his company while in the ISH bar last Thursday, and now he sent a lot more detail to me. It is for a company similar to Motorcrossed, so it should be pretty fun. Yay for things working out for once.
