Another day of art and paper class. Continued to work on our mica books, and had another go at marbling paper. It really is a cool process, and relatively simple compared to the intricate works that result from the project.
After class, I decided to walk around in Regents Park to collect some rose petals for the book I am working on. It was so peaceful and relaxing and there are sooo many rose gardens, equivalent to several city blocks. Absolutely beautiful.
After about an hour or so of wandering through the park, I decided I was inspired by all of these rose gardens to call my mom for a while, so I sat on a bench, watched some crazy birds by the ponds, and chatted with her for a while.
After that, I came back to my room and did some research for some side trips, and then later in the evening went to the Expo at ISH. Originally, we planned to go to this blues club for some good music, but it got too late, and you have to show up super early to get a good spot. Plus, the Expo is a special event at ISH and we thought we’d just hang out with everyone for the nite instead since the blues club will be there all semester.
It was basically a huge party put on by the housing complex for all of the students, and was pretty fun at first because they had chocolate fountains and mechanical surfboards (much like the concept of the mechanical bull), so we took advantage of that scene for a while. Karaoke was going to start later, so we stuck around for that, and then ended up having a dance party for the rest of the evening because some kid knocked over the tv and broke the karaoke machine.
